green wall

Taken in an improbably cool bar in my fave town in Vietnam (whose name escapes me right now!). Sitting there sipping on a cocktail with a French diplomat, who might or might not have been an agent, and I looked to my left. I saw the photo before I even took it.

mekong mist

Halfway through a two day river trip from Luang Prabang (Laos) to northen Thailand. Misty river, misty mind.

Street art in east london

“I live in the woods… my intentions are good.”

Still my fave photo from London streets. I shot this in early 2008, and partly because of this piece of street art, immediately fell in love with the area in East London, just above Brick Lane. Amazingly, 8 months later, I moved houses… into an apartment almost across the road from this graffiti! By now, it’s completely pasted and painted over. But when I walk by the storefront, I still ‘see’ this little girl…

hanoi yellow pages

Loved this. Hanoi ‘open-sourced’ its walls with ads for taxi services (“xeom”) and the like.

green beach lights in southern vietnam

I distinctly remember the night I took this shot. I was sitting at a restaurant on the beach at Mui Ne, eating delicious whole fresh fish and sipping on a Vietnamese beer, when my best mate from Australia called me with the fantastic news that he was a father for the second time. So when I look at these green lanterns, I think of the gorgeous (now 2 year old) Charli.

witching hour street in central vietnam

A classic 3am shot from the town of Nha Trang. Rolling back to my hotel after way too many drinks, I passed this lonely lane that shimmered with intrigue and colour. Stopped, somehow held still for a second to focus, click. It was only the next morning when I went back through my photos - mostly filled with a crazy Israeli drinking session - did I notice the shot which leapt out as incredibly atmospheric. Well, to me at least.

Photo taken in a brilliant tapas bar in Sevilla, Spain. It was a team effort; my camera and @askedgirl the photographer!

An incredible sunset back home over Bondi Beach in Sydney.
